How we work

How Bauer Brothers Roofing works

The same routine runs on every roof across Lee County, from the first phone call to the last sweep of the driveway.

  • The crew lead who inspects is the one who builds
  • Every line of the price written down before you sign
  • Deck re-nailed and sealed on every re-roof

Meet the crew

Who's coming to your house

The person who walks your roof and writes the price is the one who runs the job. You'll know every face on the driveway by name before the first shingle comes off.

What we hold to

Four things on every roof

  1. Photos before prices

The crew lead photographs the whole roof before anyone talks about money, and you keep the photos whatever you decide.

  2. Every line on its own

Tear-off, decking, underlayment, flashing and the permit each get a line on the price, so you can hold it up against anyone else's.

  3. The honest answer first

When a repair will hold, you hear that before any replacement price. A new roof is priced only when the roof calls for one.

  4. A clean yard at the end of the day

The crew sweeps the yard and the driveway for nails with a magnet before they leave, every day of the job.

What we do, and don't

Where our job starts and stops

Your insurer decides a claim and your lender decides a loan. Here's what the crew takes on, and what we leave to them and to you.

Words on the truck

What the licences and programs mean

Words you'll see on roofers' trucks and websites: what each one means for you, and what to ask before you sign.

  • State-certified roofing contractor

A roofing licence issued by Florida's Department of Business and Professional Regulation that covers the whole state, with a number starting CCC. A registered contractor, by contrast, may only work in the local areas where they hold a certificate. Either way, the number should be on the written price, and you can check it on the state's licence search.

  • Florida product approval

Outside Miami-Dade and Broward, shingles, tile, underlayment and metal panels sold for Florida roofs carry a state approval number showing they were tested for wind and water. The building department checks those numbers on the permit, so a quote that names the exact products makes the permit easier to read.

  • Wind mitigation inspection

A short inspection by a licensed inspector on the state's standard form. It records how the roof deck is nailed, how the roof is tied to the walls and what covers the openings, and many insurers use it to set the wind portion of the premium. A new roof is a good time to get one done.

Tell us what's going on up there. We'll call to pick a time, walk the whole roof, then send the photos and a written price.
